What is Herbal Gateways?
Herbal Gateways
HERBALISM
Herbal Gateways offers individualized protocols for clients based on their unique constitution and health goals. The protocol includes changes to lifestyle and diet if indicated as well as recommendations for herbal remedies which are usually a combination of herbal tinctures or glycerites and herbal tea blends. The type of herbal remedy will depend on the herbs used as herbs are most effective when prepared properly – some are water soluble, some are only effective when extracted with alcohol. The preparation varies widely as even the concentration of alcohol differs with each herb. The idea is to use herbs as a gateway to address underlying imbalances in the body so that the body can heal itself. Seeking an herbal approach to improving your health will require a commitment – both from you and your herbalist. Herbs do not provide an instant cure in most situations ,and herbal protocols often need to be changed over time as healing begins to take place so be prepared to commit to a process that will likely take weeks or months. The client is free to purchase their own herbs and tinctures separately or the herbalist will formulate them if desired. The herbalist can provide you with reliable sources for the herbs and tinctures.
AYURVEDIC DIGESTION AND NUTRITION
While Ayurvedic principles are used by the herbalist in developing your protocol, you can also book an Ayurvedic consultation if your goal is to address digestive imbalances and insufficiencies. Poor digestion and nutrition are often the underlying cause of many ailments and a protocol specifically addressing diet and herbs to support proper digestion will be developed specifically for you. Diet is definitely something that is NOT one-size-fits-all! An Ayurvedic approach is excellent when dealing with issue such as indigestion, acid reflux irrititable bowel and leaky gut.
